Sandbaai beach is only a two minute walk away and is lined with rock pools rich in local marine life. The beach offers safe swimming, snorkelling and diving. Every year around August the region’s honouree guests, the Southern Right Wales, descend upon these magnificent shores to entertain the locals and holidaymakers. They favour the shallow waters of the bay for breeding and visitors can marvel at these gigantic wonders from sometimes only a few yards away.

This is one of the world’s richest floral kingdoms and is packed with great activities for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. There are walking, hiking and biking trails, or why not be daring and try your hand at paragliding. You can also enjoy the morning sun rises beyond the mountains, where the Hemel and Aarde Valley is situated, the first stop of the famous Hermanus wine route.
