fernkloof nature reserve

Whales

Fernkloof Nature Reserve is an area rich in natural fauna and flora. The natural vegetation is called Fynbos and comes from the Dutch word 'fijin bos' which describes this shrub-like type of floral vegetation. The floral species vary from the mountain slopes to the coast. The region is famous for having the highest number of species in the area. This area is great for nature and bird lovers.

There are 60km trails in the reserve with spectacular views and clean, fresh air to fill the lungs. It’s an excellent way for visitors to spend their day. The bottom of the reserve lies at sea level and stretches up to almost 850m above sea level at the top of the Klienrivier and Hermanus Mountains. There is a visitors centre in the reserve where visitors can view displays of some of the regions unique flower species.

Crimson Views Feedback

"we had an exceptional time at the house, so much so that we almost didn't want to leave. We really enjoyed and made constant use of the games room. We'll definitely recommend it to friends and family and will surely return."
