Fish caught in these waters include Galjoen, Cape Cod, Hake, Yellowtail, Kingklip and Snoek. Sandbaai is perfect for both beach and boat-based fishing. Arrangements can be made to launch boats from Sandbaai slipway and the house has secure off-road parking for visitor-owned boats.

Boat-based fishing trips can be organized in the local town as well as cray fishing trips. Crayfish are found deep in the kelpy waters off Sandbaai. These creatures are a local, protected delicacy similar to the rock lobster, but far better. They are excellent on the braai (barbeque) for afternoon or evening meals at Crimson Views. Seasonal permits are needed to catch your daily quota of crayfish. These can be obtained at the Magistrate's Court* in Hermanus (see below for info). You can also book a trip on a crayfish boat and obtain a temporary permit to get your four crayfish limit for the day.
